Belgian Beers
Brugse Zot Blonde (6.0%) Belgian Blonde
Brouwerij De Halve Maan (Vlaams Gewest, Belgium)
Brewed with two varieties of hop and four different malts this is a fine example of the Belgian Blonde. Golden, rich, and fruity.
Cherry Chouffe (8.0%) Fruit Beer
Brasserie d’Achouffe (Région Wallonne, Belgium)
A deep, dark, and delicious slightly sour strong Belgian ale. It brings back memories of the original Liefmans Kriek and is dangerously moreish.
De la Senne Jambe-de-Bois (8.0%) Belgian Tripel
Brasserie de la Senne (Brussels, Belgium)
Copper coloured full-bodied Belgian Tripel. Brewed with a blend of aromatic hops to give a malty first taste with a long and subtle bitter finish.
Delirium Tremens (7.4%) Belgian Tripel
Delirium – Huyghe (Vlaams Gweest, Belgium)
The original pink elephant – which is no suggestion of what you end up seeing when you drink it. Triple fermented with three different yeasts gives a sweet biscuit taste, finishing with a long, dry bitterness. A real throwback to the days at the Formby Hall where this was hugely popular with the Saturday afternoon crowd.

La Trappe Quadrupel (10.0%) Belgian Quadrupel
Bierbrouwerij De Koningshoeven (Noord-Brabant, Netherlands)
Brewed outside of Belgium but still qualifying as a genuine Trappist beer as it is brewed within the monastery walls of the Cistercian Abbey of Our Lady of Koningshoeven. St. Bernardus Abt 12 (10.0%) Belgian Quadrupel
Brouwerij St.Bernardus (Vlaams Gewest, Belgium)
Widely regarded as one of the finest beers in the world, and no surprise because it is a near exact copy (bar the yeast) of West Vleteren 12 brewed only a few km away. Complex. Dark. Rich tastes of dark (forbidden) fruits with a caramel sweetness and background hints of spice. Sip it slowly and see how the taste changes as the beer warms in your hands.
